Gym Supervisor Job Description

POSITION: GYM SUPERVISOR

HOURS Estimated 10 to 36 hours

POSITIONS OPEN Approx. twenty four (24) during mid October through March and are open until filled. Applications will be reviewed as they are submitted.

SALARY $8.50 Per Hour (Starting Wage)

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a temporary employee position reporting to the Facilities Supervisor. The primary responsibility of the Gym Supervisor is to supervise the activities occurring in the gym or gym’s assigned. This includes but will not be limited to setting up equipment, clean up of facilities and opening and closing. Other responsibilities will include record keeping, game reports, accident reports, as well as enforcing the school rules and policies regarding the use of the gym and those rules set forth by Emerald KIDSPORTS. Gym Supervisors are required to provide a high level of customer service for our patrons and staff.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Previous experience working with recreation programs desired but not required.

Must be 18 years of age and have a valid Oregon driver’s license and must have own transportation to work site.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES

This position works indoors with groups of adults and children. Must be able to set up and tear down equipment such as volleyball nets, basketball hoops, etc. Must be able to lift 20-50 lbs. and able to respond and react to emergency situations. May work non-standard work weeks and shifts to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
