Memorial Day Soccer Tournament

Welcome to the nineteenth annual Memorial Day Soccer Tournament, May 29-30, 2010. This year we will have 107 teams from throughout Oregon. We are looking forward to another great tournament and trust you and your team will have a great time.

A team representative must complete tournament check in prior to participation in your first game. Check in occurs at Thurston High School Tournament Headquarters located behind the school facing field 2. We will also have official check in at the KIDSPORTS Eugene Office, 2190 Polk St., 1:30pm–6:30pm on Friday, May 28. We request that all local area teams check in on Friday thus reducing lines and player eligibility questions Saturday morning. Teams officially checked in on Friday do not need to check in at Tournament HQ on Saturday. Out-of-town teams are also welcome to check in on Friday at KIDSPORTS.

We will confirm tournament playing rosters, record any roster changes or additions, and confirm USYSA registration and possession of playing cards. No roster changes will be permitted after the start of your first game.

In keeping with our tradition, all teams will play 4 games, two Saturday and two Sunday, with a championship game when possible. Also, all games tied at the end of regulation time will proceed directly to a shootout. Designated shootout pits are established at both the high school and middle school. Games ending in a tie on the 32 nd St. fields will proceed immediately to a shootout on the field.

For your convenience the tournament will provide an athletic trainer at Thurston HS. The trainer is available to help with injuries and illness as well as provide preventative taping. Preventative taping will be provided at the discretion and availability of the trainer and you should provide your own tape.

Thank you for choosing the 2010 Memorial Day Soccer Tournament and best wishes for a successful and enjoyable tournament.

Sincerely,

Bob Trickett, Tournament Director
