Michael Moriarty Memorial Scholarship Fund

Michael Allan Moriarty, the son of Kenneth and Mary Lou Moriarty, was born and raised in Eugene, Oregon. He spent his youth participating in EBAA sports programs including baseball, basketball, and football. His younger brother and sister – Christopher Moriarty living in Charlottesville, VA and Kelly Gallagher living in Tigard, OR – also participated in the EBAA and ESP programs while their father Kenneth coached many of their teams.

Michael attended Silver Lea Elementary School, Colin Kelly and Jefferson Junior High and graduated from Churchill High School in 1978 before attending the University of Oregon. He lived his last fifteen years in the Portland area and was employed by Nelson Brown Equities as a financial consultant.

He often spoke of his fond memories participating in EBAA sports programs and recognized the value of kids participating in organized sports programs.

Michael passed away January 16th, 2009 of a heart attack at the age of 48. His family has established a scholarship fund in his name.
