KS is partnering with a local Empowerment-Based Movement Program expert to provide four 90 minute sessions of self-defense/self-empowerment activities for girls in 5th – 8th grade.
Program Description: Training sessions are open to 5th – 8th grade girls of all abilities, backgrounds, with no previous experience needed. The sessions are designed and delivered by trained trauma-informed instructors. The training sessions are supported by up-to-date research on effective, evidence-based verbal and physical self-defense and self-empowerment techniques for girls and women. Empowerment based self-defense (ESD) is an evidence-based model of self-defense training that focuses on awareness, verbal skills, and boundary-setting in addition to self-defense skills. Athletic like clothing and athletic shoes are recommended.
Due to lack of space and to make for an environment more conducive to learning, spectators and parents are not able to attend these class sessions.

Safety and Sanitation
Don’t worry, we are planning comprehensive safety and sanitation measures to ensure for both a fun and safe environment.
We plan to adhere to the latest Covid guidance from the Oregon Health Authority and Lane County Health at the time of the camps.
Due to the uncertainty of the continually changing situation with covid, camp curriculum and schedules are subject to change.
